How accurate are the photos? Will my piece look like the ones on the campaign page?

Wood is a natural material, and natural materials vary in appearance from piece to piece. Wyrmwood does not employ the use of dyes or stains on any piece we create - we believe the natural appearance of the wood should be allowed to speak for itself.

While the photos on the campaign page are representative of a given species, we cannot guarantee the exact same shade of colors, grain patterns, or character (knots or figure in the wood) will be present in the finished product.

While it can be nice to know exactly what your piece will look like, we think you’ll love the piece you receive - it will be totally unique, even from others made of the same material. And, of course, if you don’t love it - just get in touch with us and we’ll make it right.

How many characters can be engraved on a Personal Tray or Master Vault?

Given that we can resize text as needed, we can be somewhat flexible on this, but we do have some basic guidelines. For maximum readability on a single line, we recommend no more than 30-40 characters. For longer messages, including multiple lines, we recommend not exceeding 240 characters.

If your desired message exceeds these limits, that’s okay - we can likely make it work. But you may want to contact us to ensure it will turn out precisely the way you imagine.

Okay, I want to pledge for an Adventurer's Arsenal! How do I pledge? How do you know what I'm pledging for?

Great question! It’s actually pretty simple!

Our project is set up to allow you to pledge for whatever mix of components you’d like - whether that’s an entire Adventurer’s Arsenal (or more than one!), or a single Pencil or Master Vault. You can mix woods, or make everything match. The choice is yours!

First, decide what items you’d like - this is the hard part!

Once you know that, you have two options - we recommend using our pledge calculator, linked from the “Ready to Pledge” image at the top of the page, which will calculate your pledge total for you, including shipping. Alternatively, you can simply add up the values using the prices listed on the page and the shipping charts on the page.

Once you have your total, simply choose a pledge tier, based on what delivery window is available and what items are in your pledge (there are separate tiers for pledges containing only dice and pencils, since shipping is less expensive for these small items). When Kickstarter asks you how much you’d like to pledge, enter your total, confirm your pledge, and you’re all set!

After the campaign ends, we’ll send you a detailed survey which will allow you to tell us exactly what you’d like, and even add more to your pledge if you decide you’d like additional items! We’ll give more information on this as the campaign goes on.

What if I pledge for a complete Adventurer's Arsenal at the Roll The Dice level? Will the components match?

Yes! When a pledge includes multiple Roll The Dice items, unless you tell us otherwise we will assume that they are being purchased as a set, and a random wood will be selected for each SET.

For example, if your pledge includes a Master Vault, a Wyrmwood Pencil and a Personal Dice Tray, with an additional Pencil, all at Roll The Dice level, you would receive an Adventurer’s Arsenal in one wood, with the additional Pencil in a different wood.

What if I change my mind about what I'd like?

No problem! In fact, there’s a good chance you might, considering we’ll be unlocking new woods as the campaign continues!

You can edit your pledge easily, and you’ll be able to change it right up until the end of the campaign, at which time all pledges will be locked and collected.

If you change your mind after that, you’ll be able to add funds or choose additional items using the pledge manager that we’ll set up after the campaign ends. Look for more information on that as the campaign continues!

How does shipping work?

Shipping works differently depending on a couple of factors - first, is your pledge domestic (within the US) or international? Secondly, is your pledge solely for smaller items (pencils and dice) or does it include larger components, as well (Master Vault and Personal Dice Tray)?

Let’s look at pledges for larger items first (Adventurer’s Arsenal tiers). In the US, these are simple - the shipping is a flat $12 on top of the value of your items. That’s it!

International shipping is a bit more complicated. There is a base charge for the first item, then an additional, smaller charge for each item beyond the first. These are detailed in the charts above. However, pencils and dice ship free at this reward level, regardless of how many you include in your pledge.

For the Pencil/Dice Only tiers, things are a bit simpler all around. International pledges ship for a lower flat rate, regardless of the number of items. And domestic pledges at this level ship free!

I'm located outside of the US. Is this project EU-Friendly? Will I need to pay VAT or customs fees?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a solid solution in place for dealing with customs fees or VAT for our international backers.

Some projects are able to arrange for shipping for pledge rewards through distributors and shipping partners within the EU or other locations, and by doing this, they can alleviate the burden of import taxes from their backers by having someone else handle the packaging and shipping.

While we’d love to do this, it’s difficult for a project like ours for various reasons. The huge variety of items means that fulfilling the orders is more complicated than most projects. While the average project may have a handful of different items, we have over 150!

We also take pride on securely packaging and shipping our work ourselves, both because of our focus on service and the high value of the pieces we produce. We’d need absolute confidence in any partner we found to handle that for us, and that makes finding a match challenging.

Our shipping rates factor in the cost of postage to get your pledge items to you anywhere in the world, but you should check to see what additional fees and taxes may be imposed on you by the country/state/province in which you reside. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Will my order include a Leather Strap?

Pledges or preorders that include both a Master Vault and Personal Dice Tray will include a complimentary leather strap for each set automatically. It won’t be listed individually in your survey, but as long as you have both the tray and the vault in your order, you’ll receive it for-sure :)

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
